[Unlike Ventus, Vanitas doesn't have much to pack. He's got his bodysuit, and that's about it. If he needs Void Gear, he can summon it at will, and any other equipment is light enough to be worn and carried. He doesn't need to pack a bag like Ventus.]
[Once Ventus is ready, he holds out a palm and opens a Corridor. The darkness swirls into existence, and Vanitas turns to Ventus.]
[Ventus would rather like to see Vanitas in different clothes. Preferably his clothes. But he just smiles, taking his hand and tugging him through the corridor.
The darkness against his skin is different, almost vile in a way. But it doesn’t harm him. It can’t. He’s pure light, after all, practically a princess of light with how much light he holds inside of him. It tries to harm him, seep inside as it hisses, wanting to corrupt him.]
[The only clothes he’d even have on hand would be Ventus’s, but he’s not thinking of other outfits right now.]
[They plunge into the depths of darkness, and Vanitas can see how the darkness swarms around Ventus, seeking purchase on his pure heart of light. It still coalesces around his light, threatening to consume it, desperate to corrupt it. Vanitas lets out a hiss of his own, remaining close to Ventus and using his own dark aura to stave off the darkness around him. He’s stronger than any stray darkness, and in these primal corridors, strength is respected. So long as he’s here, at Ventus’s side, no darkness would dare try to steal his light from him on his watch.]
[Their trip is short, and soon the darkness of the corridor opens up to the warm, sandy beaches of Destiny Islands.]
[It’s a short trip, but it honestly feels like it took forever. The darkness he can feel itching at his skin. It makes him stand out in the corridor, no matter how brief it was. After all, he is a being of pure light.
He’s like a beacon in the abyss.
But he’s not afraid of it. Not afraid of the darkness. He has Vanitas after all and if he can tame the darkness, then nothing else matters.
When they arrive at Destiny Islands, he lets himself relax a bit, already aware of the laugher going on behind them in the distance.]
[Once they arrive, Vanitas can already feel the difference between here and the Land of Departure. The sun is warm, the breeze is salty, and the sound of waves is one of the first things he hears, followed by the laughter. While Ventus relaxes Vanitas tenses, already looking around with a displeased expression on his face.]
[Vanitas doesn't reply to that, frowning as he looks out at the beach. They're beneath the shade of some nearby coconut trees, but already this place feels too bright to him. This world is full of light, and he's a dark stain upon it. It makes him stand out, and makes him agitated.]
[When Ventus takes his hand, Vanitas turns to him, blinking in surprise. Then, as the words sink in, he lets out a small breath, the corners of his mouth twitching upward.]
Yeah. That sounds better. [And if they're too preoccupied to notice the two newcomers on the beach, Vanitas doesn't mind that.]
[Ventus smiles cutely and leads Vanitas over to a more private area of the beach.
It’s shaded and more to keep Vanitas out of the sun. He doesn’t mind them not being noticed. They will be eventually. Ventus and Sora naturally gravitate towards each other after all.]
[Vanitas is fine to let Ventus lead the way, and grateful to be heading somewhere quiet. The laughter he hears soon fades into the distance, replaced by the quiet noises of the ocean's waves and the breeze rustling through trees. Like this, it's easy to pretend that they're alone.]
[He stays near Ventus, for a moment just taking in the world. He'd been here before, sure, but he's never truly stopped to experience it. It's warm, sunny, and inviting; all the things he's not. It makes him frown.]
I don't get what the appeal of this world is. It's small, and bright. And full of annoying people.
[He frowns at Ventus at the jab, huffing as he turns to look out at the ocean, at first making it seem like he’s not going to deign Ventus’s comment with an answer. But after a minute or two, he speaks up.]
[Ven’s arms around his shoulders snaps Vanitas’s attention to the blonde, the brush of lips against his making him visibly shiver. His eyes drift half-shut and a smirk grows on his face.]
Yeah, when you’re off playing with your friends. But you’re much better when you’re like this.
[He brings his own hands up to settle on Ven’s hips, and he moves in to try and get another taste of Ven’s lips.]
[That makes Vanitas frown, responding to that playful tease with an annoyed frown of his own. He uses his hands to try and tug at Ventus’s hips to bring him closer.]
I like you better when you’re focusing on me. Everyone else trying to get your attention is just getting in the way.

You can handle that?
[Then, after a beat, he nods.]
Yeah. Okay. Let’s do that, then.
no subject
[Still, he got Vanitas to agree.
It has him smiling and he grabs his bag.]
Alright, let's go.

After you.

Well, we're here. Now what?
no subject
[Or.
Ventus looks over at him to take his hand.]
We can enjoy a private moment on the beach before they realize we're here.

[His voice holds a bit of laughter in it.
Taking off his shoes and socks, he lets his toes wiggle in the soft sand.]
And to be fair, Vanitas. Who isn’t annoying to you?
no subject
...you’re tolerable.
no subject
[Ventus' smile shifts.
He stands in front of Vanitas, draping his arms over his shoulders and tugging him close. His lips brushes against the other's, teasing.]
no subject
Yeah, when you’re off playing with your friends. But you’re much better when you’re like this.
[He brings his own hands up to settle on Ven’s hips, and he moves in to try and get another taste of Ven’s lips.]

Ventus tightens his hold around his shoulders before pulling back, playfully refusing Vanitas what he desires.]
Oh?
no subject
I like you better when you’re focusing on me. Everyone else trying to get your attention is just getting in the way.
no subject
[Or just want to hang out with him.
He does take one step closer though.]
no subject
[And it's irritating how easily Ven caves to their demands.]
[He steps closer when Ven does, moving to rest his forehead against Ven's.]
You're my light. Not theirs.
no subject
[His smile shifts a bit.
Almost sharper, but it's hidden behind warmth.]
Not willing to share your light?
no subject
[Is it possessive? Sure. But their hearts were joined now. He didn't feel like sharing.]
no subject
No need to be so possessive, Vani.
no subject
And you're going to act like you're not possessive of me?
no subject
[He breathes against his lips.]
I think you like it when I get possessive of you honestly.
no subject
If it means you focus on me more than others. You said yourself you need me to make you whole. So why play around with these idiots?
