There are stars that shoots across the sky

[He should have known it was a bad idea when he began to recognize certain areas and landmarks, the way his own blood seemed to slowly start screaming at him to run. Run. Get away.

The others don't seem to notice; then again, Jae-Ha has always been good at concealing his own emotions. The only person who seemed to notice was Zeno, who lingered close to Jae-Ha. By the time they had gotten close, Jae-ha finally decided to do one thing:

Get some distance.

It may have been years, but it didn't matter. Hak finally took notice, Shin-Ah not too long after, and it was decided they would make base camp for the evening.

And it's how Jae-ha would find himself sitting on the edge of a nearby cliff, eyes focused on the starlit sky while hearing the crashing of waves against the cliff.]

[ Yona had noticed something was off, even though she couldn't quite put her finger on what. It wasn't until camp started coming together and Yoon started putting together dinner for everyone that she realized Jae-Ha had vanished somewhere.

It's Zeno who catches her eye, noticing her glancing around for him, and then he casts his eyes in the direction the green dragon had headed, where his presence could still be felt, and she merely nods before slipping off quietly to find him.

It's not that hard, at least, and a short while later she steps out of the trees to see him sitting at the cliff, staring up at the night sky. Studying him for a moment, she eventually approaches, remaining silent as she comes to sit down beside him, gazing up at the sight that seems to hold him so entranced. ]

It's a pretty view from here.

[He relaxes almost immediately at her presence. There's always something about her presence that leaves him relaxed. Though, he's not sure if it's because she's Hiryuu or because she's Yona.

His lips curve up into a smile.]

It is, isn't it? [Amused, he glances at her.] Not as beautiful as you, of course.

[ She just gives him a patiently bemused look at the flirtation as she settles down to perch comfortably at his side. She leans in a little, resting against his arm as her cheek rests against his shoulder. ]

We'll have to disagree on that.

[Jae-ha chuckles at that.]

If you say so. [His eyes shifts up to the sky.] Is dinner almost finished?

Yoon's putting it together while the others work on the camp. It might be a bit, however. Shin-Ah caught some fish in that stream we passed, though.

[ She glances over at him after falling silent for a few moments, searching his face in the moonlight. ]

Something's bothering you.

Always can count on Shin-Ah.

[There's a brief pause, just the slightest twitch of his fingers.

He keeps the smile on his face.]

Nothing to be too concerned about, Yona-chan.

If it's troubling you, Jae-Ha, then I think I'm allowed to be concerned. [ She points this out with an even look, waiting patiently. ] What is it? Did something happen today?

No, not today.

[Jae-ha finally looks over at her, smile shrinking a bit.]

I don't suppose we can choose a different route tomorrow, can we?

[ Yoon had said this was the most direct path and Hak had agreed with him. When she'd glanced at the map, she'd seen nothing of note to cause concern.

But clearly, that wasn't the case. So while she doesn't agree or disagree immediately, she does give him a thoughtful look as she inclines her head, allowing that she'd consider it. ]

Can you tell me why, Jae-Ha?

[...

He just frowns at that. He doesn't want to tell her, but he figures it's fair considering that Yona had seen Kija and Shin-Ah's villages.

Idly, he rubs his right leg.]

The village I was born in is close by. I don't want to go anywhere near it.

[ Which, of course, sparks her curiosity. But she knows Jae-Ha's youth in his village was not like Kija's and probably much closer to Shin-Ah's experience, so she bites back any questions she might have to let her gaze drift out over the landscape instead.

There's no hesitation when she nods in reply. ]

Then we'll find a way around it. Do you know of any alternate passages through this area?

It's been a long time, so I may have to scout the area better.

[He'll just need to stay out of view from the village. Shouldn't be too hard hopefully.]

It shouldn't take me long to do that.

[ She reaches out, laying a hand on his arm as she glances up at his face, searching his expression. ]

We could have Shin-Ah look instead, perhaps?

I'd feel better doing it myself honestly.

[Jae-ha looks thoughtful.]

I'll take Shin-Ah with me, though.

[ There's something in her that relaxes at that reassurance, because she knew the pair of them would watch out for one another, and that Shin-Ah would never let any harm befall his brother.

Still, she gives his arm a light squeeze. ]

Is there anything I can do?

[He smiles again, hand lifting to place on her head in a comforting manner.]

Just you being here is enough for me, Yona-chan. And try not to mention this to the others? I don't want them worrying over this as well.

[He already knows Zeno is onto him. Hak is beginning to get suspicious and even Yoon keeps sending him glances now and then.]

[ She leans into that touch, giving him a bemused glance. ]

Is it really so bad, Jae-Ha? Having people who care about you worry now and then?

[He gives her a bemused smile in return.]

That's the pot calling the kettle, isn't it? You can be just as bad when people worry over you, Yona-chan.
